Word leaked out last week that Glee was filming a ‘Grease’ remake at Venice High. Woo! (cue teenage girl swooning). I brought my camera to school, hoping to get a few behind-the-scenes shots but without high expectations - there would be, after all, mobs of people screaming at the actors. Plus, I had heard that the FOX people weren’t letting people take photos of the sets. How could I possibly get close enough to take some really good shots?
I
ditchedleft 3rd period and went out to the field, seeing what I could get. And there I got my first surprise of the day - the actors were taking a break from filming, and Cory Monteith came over, said hi, and took some photos with me.
(AWESOME).
After school, the Glee actors were filming a scene in the cafeteria. The bell rang, and the set was mobbed with students. Here, the security guards were
being bitchesdoing their jobs, not letting anyone take photos. I managed to get a few good shots of the scene, but nothing too exceptional. Then someone (bless you, anon) had the idea to make a big “INTERVIEW PLEASE?” sign. We waved it above the crowd, and apparently it caught Chris Colfer’s eye. He sent an assistant director over, who told us that Chris might have time to do a interview after the scene.
There was a small break in filming, and Chris came by, shook our hands, and did the interview. He was amazingly nice, easy to talk to, and smart. Out of all the actors and actresses on scene, he was the only one to go out of his way, with a high school student newspaper, to give us an awesome exclusive story. He made my
dayweekmonth.CHRIS COLFER, YOU ARE AMAZING.
The interview will be published Dec. 15 in The Oarsman.
